Graduate Students

We welcome prospective Ph.D. students interested in developmental biology, stem cell biology, and RNA biology. We are part of the BBS umbrella program (Biological and Biomedical Sciences) at Yale university, specifically the MCGD track as well as the BQBS track. Specific instructions and timelines for applying to the BBS program can be found on the BBS website.

Ideal candidates should have:

  • Background in molecular biology, developmental biology, and/or bioinformatics
  • Strong motivation for interdisciplinary research
  • Interest in developing new methods and experimental approaches

Postdoctoral Associates

We are seeking postdoctoral researchers with expertise in biochemistry, RNA biology, chromatin biology, epigenetics, stem cell biology, single-cell analysis, or computational biology. Postdocs in the lab have the opportunity to develop independent research projects and receive mentorship in grant writing and career development. If you are interested in a postdoctoral position in the lab, please send a CV and a cover letter explaining your experience and your motivation.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in biology, bioinformatics, or related field
  • Strong publication record
  • Excellent communication skills

Undergraduate Students

Yale undergraduates interested in gaining research experience are encouraged to reach out. We offer opportunities for students to participate in ongoing research projects and develop their laboratory skills. If you are interested in doing a senior research project in the lab, please contact Josien in the fall of your junior year to discuss options and prepare a proposal for the summer.

We look for students who are:

  • Committed to spending at least 10 hours per week in lab
  • Interested in learning molecular biology techniques
  • Eager to contribute to team science
